MOST VALUBLE PLAYER VOTING SYSTEM
The Newcastle Dodgeball League's Most Valuable Player honour is awarded to the player in the competition that has accrued the most MVP point nominations over the course of the regular season. Once a match has been played and results have been confirmed, each team elects a 'most valuable player' from the opposing team, with both named players earning 2 (two) points towards their total season tally.
Once team voting is complete, a third player will be voted the Umpire's Most Valuable Player for the game, with 1 (one) point being awarded towards their total season tally for the Most Valuable Player award.
The player who finishes the regular season will be bestowed the title of that season's Most Valuable Player, while the next five highest players in the standings will be entered into that term's Team of the Season (TOTS). In the matter of tiebreakers between TOTS members, a Tiebreaking Category will be added.
The Tiebreaking Category sees all teams given an allotment of points equal to their standings after the regular season, eg. if Raymond Terrace places third in the regular season out of eight teams they will be awarded a value of 6 (six) points. Each player's MVP point nominations will be tallied, with the weighted cost of the teams they earned their nominations against being added to the pool. Once the pool of available Tiebreaker Category points have been confirmed, the players equal on MVP point nominations will be split with the highest Tiebreaker count earning a place in the TOTS.
