With the Newcastle Dodgeball League reaching the half-way point of the season, it's time to stop and take a look at how the race for the competition's Most Valuable Player is shaping up. While in the past the half point often sees tiebreakers come into play to determine who is currently leading the pack, Season 11 has a clear front-runner for season's best - Bar Beach's Emma Hawes has proven crucial for the entrant team in their first campaign, collecting three of a possible seven MVP votes across the first half of the season. While Hawes currently has control of the top spot by a single point, four players remain hot on her heels seven weeks in, including Team of Season 10 recipients Peter Goldthorpe and Alexander McIntyre, who both have retained their winter series form to collect 5 points in the opening seven fixtures. They are joined by two rookie players, Isaac Davis and Hannah Trypas, and Molly Walker, who has enjoyed a red-hot start to Season 11 for Waratah. The half-point of the league also gives a look in to a potential end-of-season standout team, with the players that have currently collected either five or six point hauls making it into the squad.
